Finger Puppets

Mom had a number of strange collections; one of the most popular was her finger puppet collection. An unknown number of unconventional pieces of theatre premiered on this stage and Mom watched and occasionally participated in every one of them. The finger puppet stage was just one of a number of fun ways that Mom kept us busy while the adults did boring things. The majority of the performances ended in fits of laughter from the sole audience member and the puppeteers. There were so many times that Mom and I laughed until we cried while playing or watching the finger puppets. Most of the time it was over something silly, but oh did we laugh.

These are some of my favorite memories. There was no special event, no special day; just unscripted fun with Mom.

That is something that I will miss so much about Mom – her laughter, she had a very unique laugh that could make even the crankiest of people crack a smile.
